Their biggest challenge in DE&I

We are a bit of the odd one out in the start-up world though, as we’re majority female (60/40%) across all levels, and teams, including leadership. Also, the industry (HR tech) is predominantly female. We’ve built our foundation and values around DE&I so the focus will be more on maintaining and being a role model to other start-ups.

The challenge

In this role you will develop and build the tax processes that will help our clients navigate the nuances of the Dutch tax system as expats, including submitting 30% tax ruling applications. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, across finance and operations. As we continue to grow you will be given the opportunity to grow your team and fully own the new product and services that you will have the autonomy to develop with support from our leadership team.

Furthermore, you’ll be partnering with our product team to continuously optimise and automate our processes to enable our team to work effectively, deliver top notch customer service, make a real impact on our business and allow other colleagues to excel in their work.

Some of your key responsibilities 

  • Build and implement a full range of tax services in compliance with Dutch laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with our external tax advisor to partner on ongoing casework and enable transition of other work.
  • Build relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expertise on global tax matters in support of their global mobility and international talent strategies.
  • Manage client expectations and questions, and provide effective issue resolution.
  • Manage a team providing tax support and advice to our clients.
  • Provide innovative tax planning and review income tax returns.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks for our clients.
  • Manage tax support and reporting and tax compliance processes.
  • Enhance operations and delivery by developing or implementing best practices.
  • Support clients with preparation and coordination of tax audits.
  • Collaborate with Product team to develop and improve application tracking and other innovations.
  • Work closely with the Ops & Finance teams to establish and optimise processes.

More about you

Skills and experience we’d love to see 

  • Previous experience in an Employment or Expat Tax Management role.
  • Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns with a particular emphasis on Dutch processes.
  • A proven track record of supporting end-to-end 30% tax ruling applications and ability to manage more complex cases.
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
  • Team player with a positive mindset who gets things done.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good sense of finance and excel.
  • Tech savvy, process driven and eager to solve problems.
  • Fluent English.

Preferable (not a must)

  • Experience with other European tax systems.
  • Personal experience of living and/or working overseas.
  • Knowledge of Dutch.
